Flip the Switch with Vic
I want you to imagine you’re in a completely dark room and it’s pitch black. You can’t even see your hand in front of your face. Your goal, obviously, is to get out of the room because you can’t see. The goal is to find a light switch and turn it on. Then you’re thinking, “Well, maybe someone will do it for me”, and then you realize that there’s nobody around. You’re completely alone. What do you do?
You start by moving around a little bit and guess what happens? You hit your foot on the bed post and fall down. You have two choices.
1. You can stay there and feel sorry for yourself.
2. You can get back up, dust yourself off, and keep going. It’s called perseverance!
Let’s say you go with number two, and maybe this time you trip over some clothes that are on the floor and you fall again. You do this about five or six or seven times. You know what? Many people give up because they stay in a victim mindset.
I have a challenge for you. I challenge you to get back up, hit another post, get back up, fall over some clothes, and get back up again. Keep going because no matter how many times it takes you will eventually find that wall. You will feel around and will eventually find that switch. You’ll find the door, and open it. Guess who’s on the other side?
People that care about you! People that want to help you! People that want to support you! They are willing to help, but they did not know you were in the
room in the first place. They can’t help you if they don’t know you need it! You must be willing to raise your hand and say, “You know what? I’m going to take responsibility for myself. I’m going find the light switch and go from a victim to a victor mindset. I’m going to realize that my past is something that I can live with now. In fact, I can even take it to great new levels in my life and visualize having a bigger future.”
It’s a decision that only you can make. You have to be willing to take action. It has to start with you!
