What's Different Now?
It's hard not to compare our childhood experiences to our current adult lives. What we lived through in our early years may have set up thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that we're trying to unlearn now. Not because we were bad or wrong, but perhaps those patterns do not serve us any longer. Or maybe we recognized that the way we thought about ourselves and others isn't healthy or productive. Even more so, it's possible we saw things from the adults who raised us and now say, "Huh, that's what NOT to do."
What's different in your life today? What choices do you make that maybe the adults didn't? I know I listen. At every opportunity I try and own my mistakes and take accountability when I am wrong. I also want to live in the moment and experience joy with my family. I do not strive for perfection because I know that's unobtainable. So again, I ask...What's different now?
